At Mumbai’s Jio World Plaza, the story began not with a conventional boutique opening, but with a homecoming.
Nearly a century after Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers first made its mark in erstwhile Bombay, the Jaipur maison returned to the city by turning its new boutique into a celebration of its world — where high jewellery met art, gastronomy, music and a distinctly Mumbai sense of occasion.

Nine archival and collectible jewels took centre stage, but each was given more than a showcase. Ember in Sand, The Shree Veni, The Golconda Blush, Scent of the Sea, Jaipore Pink, Pannika, Shahi Kantha, The Legacy of Art and The Queen of Ni unfolded across individual artistic settings, allowing guests to encounter the maison’s craftsmanship as a series of visual stories.

The evening carried the energy of a fashion and cultural gathering, with Sonam Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Taha Shah, Bhavna Pandey and others adding to the glamour. But the experience did not stop at the jewels. Live fusion performances brought rhythm into the space, while a multi-course gastronomic experience took cues from the nine creations, turning jewellery into inspiration on the dining table.

For Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, the Mumbai return became more than a new retail address. It was heritage translated into experience, bringing the house’s Jaipur identity into a contemporary luxury setting while reconnecting with a city that has long been part of its story.
For a heritage jewellery house, the homecoming showed how the past can be made relevant not simply through the jewels it preserves, but through the experiences it creates around them.
