Saying Shloka Ambani made for an iconic bride would be an understatement. Her wedding was perhaps the biggest and the fattest Indian wedding we’d ever get to see in our lifetimes. The hugely star-studded festivities witnessed the entire Bollywood going all-out and flashing the fanciest bling ever. But Shloka, coming from a family of diamantaires, was obviously decked in the most ornate and decadent bridal jewellery for her special day. We loved how Shloka went the traditional way, and opted for desi motifs and heavy kundan pieces. Here’s looking at the bride’s looks.

Shloka Ambani was perhaps the biggest and the fattest Indian wedding. She coming from a family of diamantaires, she was decked in the most ornate and decadent bridal jewellery with desi motifs and heavy kundan pieces.

Pre- Wedding Festivities

For one of her pre-wedding festivities, Shloka chooses to wear a beautiful diamond set, and pairs it with chandelier earrings. She opts for the gold toned jewellery to enhance the bright zari detail in her fuchsia lehenga.

Shloka clearly loves her diamond bling, but she’s very mindful of pairing her jewellery right. She wears a stunning pure diamond set with a bright pink lehenga which has heavy silver accents, so neither of them drowns the other one out.

The Sangeet

For her sangeet and pre-engagement bash, Shloka kept it classy and seriously ethnic in a heavy, layered jadau set. We do wish the bride had added some coloured gemstones, but the colour palette certainly worked in Shloka’s favour, as it made her look quite regal. Shloka’s neck piece also features a tapering aspect which made her neck look slimmer. Although she matched her necklace to her earrings, you can easily opt for some polki drop earrings, or pearl danglers with a traditional jadau piece like this one.

Wedding

Shloka’s wedding look has us under its spell. The bride looked indescribable and was the very definition of a power bride. Her polki kundan necklace set was big, decadent and unapologetic in its traditional flare. The paneled choker and neck piece featured clear-cut polki diamonds and gigantic drop emeralds. There’s always beauty to be found in an ornately embellished piece like this, and if you want to go with kundan sets for your own wedding, always go for well-cut stones, over uncut ones, as they can often clutter the finish. We love how Shloka pairs her jewellery with a baroque red zardosi jaali lehanga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla; the ensemble and the jewellery don’t just make each other pop, but the gold embroidery complements the white and green palette of her bling.

Reception

For her reception, Shloka goes with a modern piece – a simple but impressive diamond set, which gels perfectly with her cream-coloured zardosi  saree. If you don’t want to introduce a new colour, always remember to play up the neutral palettes.
