The Oscars of fashion, the Met Gala 2018, took place on the 7th of May, and like always was one superb rendition. Celebrities dressed like epic, going with the theme for the year – Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, made us wonder about the limitless opportunities jewellery has to offer.
Excited as we were with what the 2018 MET Gala had in store for us, the themed jewellery opted by celebs along with the elaborate headpieces stole the show! We had a gala time admiring the baubles, and getting you the same –
Blake Lively
Dressed in the cardinal colour and going with the theme in true spirit, Blake Lively was definitely herself, all adorned with the headdress and chunky cuffs. The Lorraine Schwartz jewellery was stunning with the elaborate chains and detailing in gold. Lively’s cone earrings topped with emeralds completed her look in the themed Versace outfit.
AlexaChung
Classy and minimal, Alexa Chung added oomph to her pure white frock-style outfit in her Buccellatti neckpiece and earrings. The model and host looked pristine and powerful!
Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney, in her dramatic look heightened by Lorraine Schwartz, looked gorgeous wearing a Richard Quinnbustier trousers and a train. Randomly arranged and dazzling in diamonds, the shoulder dusters looked angelic when teamed with her outfit. The outcome was pure magic!
AmberHeard
True to the theme of the Catholic influence on fashion, Amber Heard donned a vibrant-red outfit with a gold headdress and played up the hue with a pair of elegant earrings from Jennifer Meyer. Accessorised in understated jewels, she let the headdress do all the talking!
Brooke Shields 
A midnight blue gown and a splendid diamond necklace set completed Brooke Shields’ look for the Met Gala red carpet. The jaw-dropping Tiffany jewels added spark and drama in equal measure to the classic Zac Posen outfit.
Eiza Gonzalez
Eiza Gonzalez played it all dramatic with the white cape and fitting dress highlighted with a twirling neckpiece and dangling earrings. The Tasaki jewels looked phenomenal with the vivid blue centre stone and added colour to her Prabal Gurung monochrome look.
Gabrielle Union 
Wearing bold, bright yellow deep V-neck gown, teamed with a dazzling diamond necklace by Takashi Atelier Jewels, Gabrielle Union looked relaxed at the Met Gala 2018. Arcs, motifs and drops of the necklace, earrings and finger rings dripped with diamonds offered a radiant look to her Prabal Gurung gown boasting a dangerously high split!
Priyanka Chopra
The Quantico star, Priyanka Chopra, was definitely the queen of the night in her elaborately embellished gold chainmail coif reminiscent of a medieval knight. The coif crafted to suit her face cut and hairdo ensured a lovely effect as it extended neatly all the way to the chest.
Paired beautifully with the Ralph Lauren strapless burgundy velvet gown, she blended with the Met Gala 2018 theme in a striking way.
Gigi Hadid 
Heavenly with the feathered and angel wings effect, model Gigi Hadid, beautifully accessorised with a pair of Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Dramatic gold embellishments highlighted her Versace outfit while the halo of diamonds around the matching hued stone blended with the do.
Jourdan Dunn
Straight out of a mythical story, model Jordan Dunn looked dramatic as she donned a pair of Bulgari earrings and an embellished neckpiece with her Diane von Furstenberg ‘Queen of Sheba’ cape gown. The diamond studded pair inspired a beehive design and looked neat with her braided hair-do and thigh-slit sleek dress.
Katherine Langford
Wearing the classical red with a magenta cape, Katherine Langford graced the Met Gala adorned in Fred Leighton Jewels. The chunky loop earrings in glossy gold blended well with the embellished cape of her Prada ensemble.
Kendall Jenner
Looking striking in her angel-inspired pure white train pants, model Kendall Jenner teamed her do with a pair of danglers from Tiffany & Co. The pebbled look of the sparkling earrings was definitely a great choice as it enhanced the radiance she aimed for.
Mary J Blige
Goddess-like and divine, Mary J Blige looked every bit sensual in her L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond earrings to pep up her Atelier Versace outfit. The earrings boasted elaborate motifs in shimmering metallic hues trailing off as a row of sparklers to resemble shoulder dusters. The beautiful pair sure did do wonders to her edgy dress.
Mindy Kaling 
Actress Mindy Kaling opted for elegance and sophistication teaming her ensemble with a pair of diamond earrings from Fred Leighton. Her ornate headpiece more than made up for the lack of embellishments on the Vassilis Zoulias pleated ensemble.
Rihanna
Playing up the theme in excellent garb inspired by the pope, Rihanna, made quite a statement as she completed her look with Maria Tash, Gilan and Narcia Pheres jewels. The metallic embellished neckpiece falls elaborately to accentuate her tube ensemble while the minimal gold hoops balance her over the top look.
Scarlett Johansson
A pleasant change, the Avengers: Infinity War actress, Scarlett Johansson, looked gorgeous at the Met Gala in her tulle gown adorned with a Fred Leighton earrings.
Dainty like her Marchesa gown, the floral earrings with the matching centre stone and diamond studded petals made for a pretty sight, though it was far from the theme.
Sienna Miller
Imitating the angelic vision splendidly, the British beauty, Sienna Miller, made quite a statement at the gala. Adorned in Fred Leighton jewels, the chunky neckpiece and fancy headpiece added the much needed zing to the sequined Louis Vuitton ensemble.
Taylor Hill
It’s no guessing Taylor Hill rocked a dramatic look to keep up with the ’18 theme.
Wearing jewels by Jacob and Co., the model flaunted a long diamond necklace with a cross pendant and a matching pair of dangling earrings to play up her ‘Cardinal Sin’ dress by Jourdan in Diane von Furstenberg.
WinnieHarlow
Canadian model, Winnie Harlow, looked wedding ready in her pure-white Tommy Hilfiger gown with a big embellished headpiece to make it match the Gala’s theme. The model teamed her attire with a brilliant diamond studded necklace from Bulgari, boasting a nature-inspired design of leaf motifs.
Zoe Kravitz
A catchy pair of earrings highlighted the black Saint Laurent lacy number and lent a gorgeous look to Zoe Kravitz at the Met Gala 2018. The Jacob & Co. earring boasted a beautiful subtle hued stone in the centre rounded off by a sparkling halo all around.
Uma Thurman
Beautiful in her white outfit, actress Uma Thurman, teamed her dress with a colourful necklace with cross pendants and matching danglers from the house of Giampiero Bodino.
Apt for the Gala’s theme, the dazzling encrusted necklace used some beautiful tones and hues to enhance the suspended pendants.
