The 72nd edition of Cannes Film Festival is underway since May 14 and will carry on till May 25. The prestigious event might certainly be a showcasing platform for filmmakers and actors across the globe, it cannot be denied that Cannes has become synonymous with fashion as well. In fact, our very own Bollywood ladies like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and others are regulars there and never fail to impress us with their sartorial choices.
This year again, Cannes 2019 will see a host of Bollywood celebrities attending the coveted red carpet, after-parties and screening. While you must have seen the fashion, let’s take a look at some exquisite jewelry choices now:
Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka, who recently grabbed eyeballs at the MET Gala in New York, is making her Cannes debut this year. For her first red carpet appearance, she wore a stunning dramatic black and red custom gown by Roberto Cavalli and paired it up with statement earrings from Chopard. Set in silver tone, the earrings were embellished with precious stones and we must say, Priyanka totally amped up the glamour with her maiden appearance. Although the critics touted her look as safe, we are definitely rooting for her choice of unconventional jewels.
Later, Priyanka was spotted at the screening of 5B, a documentary on HIV/AIDS, and opted for an all-white, strapless, chiffon gown, which was inspired by Princess Diana’s Cannes look in May 1987. Just like Princess Di, Priyanka sizzled in a vintage look by keeping it minimalistic with a diamond drop earrings and solitaire rings. Well, you can always count on our ‘desi’ girl to rock every look and her stylist Mimi Cutrell gets brownie points for this one!
Deepika Padukone
For her first red carpet appearance at Cannes 2019. Deepika went all dramatic with a monochrome outfit by Peter Dundas. Featuring a large black bow at the torso, the attire was accessorised with triple sideway hoop diamond earrings, a portrait cut ring, a wrap around cuff and a stack of diamond bracelets — all from Lorraine Schwartz Diamonds and Fine Jewelry. We love how her dramatic makeup and sleek hair gave focus to her shining luxury jewels.
