Ace celebrity designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee recently completed 20 years of his brand and to mark his career milestone, he collaborated with French designer house, Christian Louboutin, to unveil a new collection, Kashgaar Bazaar. The collection, inspired by nomads, gypsies and his imagination of silk route, is close to the designer’s heart because it was his maiden collection as a NIFT graduate, circa 1999.
Interestingly, as we all know, Sabyasachi has his own line of jewellery as well and hence, it was expected that not only the models, but the B-town celebrities and other guests attending the show adorned his finest pieces. For the unversed, the Kashgaar Bazaar collection of fine jewellery breaks the mould of traditional Indian jewellery by fusing cultural anecdotes from far and exotic places that have influenced Sabyasachi’s body of work. Alia paired her stunning floral paisley printed saree with intricate shoulder-dusting pair of earrings featuring hand-picked moonstones in the shape of a heart.
Isha Ambani
With her black outfit, Isha opted for a pair of earrings, which were hand-crafted in old-mine Zambian emeralds, rose cut and brilliant cut diamonds. They offered a striking contrast to her monochrome outfit by adding a pop of colour.
Janhvi Kapoor
Janhvi made a striking entry at the do by wearing a body-hugging red outfit with intricate golden design and she totally stole the show by accentuating it with simplistic teardrop earrings featuring diamonds and topaz, sculpted with impeccable craftsmanship to create a modern look.
Tara Sutaria
Tara wore a stunning lehenga by Sabyasachi as the celebrated designer completed 20 years of his fabulous brand in the industry. The actress paired her outfit with a ravishing gold and diamond choker from Anmol Jewellers (Mumbai) and the beautiful intricate pieces had jadau blue gemstones, which matched the hue of Tara’s ensemble. What’s more? The choker enhanced her neckline and went perfectly with her off-shoulder attire.
