Marriages are made in heaven! And, this is just what The Jewellery Diaries team experienced when Satveer Kaur Gill fondly reminisced her wedding journey with long-time boyfriend Jaipal Singh Gill.

Born and brought up in Singapore, Satveer, a Ph.D candidate, and Jaipal, a veterinarian by profession, met at a camp in their Gurudwara. They became friends, and the inevitable followed when Jaipal popped the question after dating for 13 years!

A fairytale wedding entailed, with preparations in full swing. A month prior to the wedding, she with her family and in laws, flew down to India to shop for her complete ensemble.

Sangeet & Mehendi

With a preconceived look in mind, Satveer wanted to don a big mang tika as the dominating jewellery to match with her yellow outfit. Pearls and polki work served as the perfect combination for the event.

She kept it light before the wedding, and teamed her Olive outfit with a gold jewellery set from the Singapore outlet of Joyallukas Jewellery. The string of matte gold balls for the neck piece and detailed jhumkis for earrings were elegant, and did not go unnoticed with her outfit’s slightly off- shoulder neckline.

Wedding & Reception

The beautiful diamond necklace set bought at Amritsar, Punjab, from Gian Chand Kapoor Jewellers looked classy and blended well with Satveer’s delicate thread-embroidered reception outfit. She got it customised with pearl drops for a contemporary twist.

Her wedding set, which included the nath, earrings, mang tikka, necklace, and hathphool was customised with red stones to match some elements of the outfit. For a colour pop, a green necklace with minakari drops was chosen to bring out the layers of green in the outfit, and to match with the necklace in a coalescence of colour.

TJD loved how Satveer ensured a touch of uniqueness with the help of her mother as her personal stylist. They balanced the look for each event gracefully, ranging from light to heavy, and from matte gold to diamonds, so she could enjoy the party mood and have more fun!
